ReThink Media

ReThink Media is a unique non-profit media organization that works exclusively with think tanks, NGOs, research institutes, and advocacy groups dedicated to advancing a more constructive and principled US foreign and national security policy, the protection of human and civil rights, and the strengthening of our democracy. We provide groups with in-depth media, messaging, and opinion research; train advocates to level up their media skills; provide access to otherwise-unaffordable communications tools; drive collaboration and innovation through shared data and learning; connect experts to the top reporters covering our issues, and amplify voices and perspectives of underrepresented spokespeople and experts.

The Peace and Security Program partners with the nation’s foremost leaders and experts to inform and advocate solutions to some of the most complex and challenging national security issues of the 21st century. The issues we work on include: nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament, arms control treaties such as New START, the Iran nuclear file, ICBMs and the nuclear triad, reducing defense spending, and ending the US-led and supported wars in Yemen, Iraq, and Afghanistan among others.

In this critical time of national transition, where the new administration faces challenges and existential threats such as the global pandemic and a fragmented international community, the stakes could not be higher for American diplomacy and foreign policy. Fellows will be on the front lines of this struggle, both responding to breaking crises such as a North Korean nuclear test, or strategizing effective ways to change how we talk about peace and security issues. Fellows will work directly with senior staff and will have the opportunity to sit in on high level planning meetings as well as work on long and short term strategic communication campaigns. Fellows will leave ReThink with new media skills and enhanced and/or expanded subject matter expertise.
