Golan-Vilella graduated from the University of Chicago Law School with honors in 2018. He was an Articles Editor on The University of Chicago Law Review and a member of the Jenner & Block Supreme Court and Appellate Clinic. Beginning in September 2018 he will spend a year working as a law clerk for Judge John J. Tharp on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In 2019-20, he will work as a law clerk for Judge Ronald Lee Gilman on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Golan-Vilella was previously the managing editor of The National Interest, a bi-monthly international affairs magazine. He was effectively the deputy editor of the print journal, where he managed that process on a day-to-day basis. He also wrote about national security issues for the editor’s blog The Buzz, did editing/layout/other organizational work and researched and made suggestions on potential authors and topics.
