Caughron is the Legislative Manager for Sustainable Energy and Environment at the Friends Committee on National Legislation. He lobbies Congress to support action to respond to the climate crisis and prevent the further degradation of the planet. Prior to his current job he was a Senior International Policy Analyst, and previously the Art Simon International Policy Fellow, at Bread for the World, where he co-chaired the Interfaith Working Group on Foreign Assistance, which advocates for increased U.S. commitment to Poverty-Focused International Development Assistance (especially in regards to combating global malnutrition). Daren also advocated for climate resiliency within food systems globally and reoriented USAID assistance to support climate-smart development. He also worked with the International Financial Institutions Working Group (IFI WG) to educate members of Congress and their staff on the importance of the 20th refresh of the International Development Association within the World Bank– a key IFI of which the U.S. is a major shareholder.
